Spare Rib

Spare Rib was the longest-running and best-known publication of the Women’s Liberation Movement, aiming to reach all women with an alternative to commercial magazines like Cosmopolitan. Over its 20-year run and 239 issues, the magazine evolved from a focus on 1970s consciousness-raising feminism to a more international feminist perspective in the 1980s.
