Eddie Hatcher (1948-2009) Tuscarora (northeastern US/Canada) Native American. Eddie was one of two Native Americans who took action to expose police corruption in Robeson, North Carolina.

Leonard Peltier (1944-) Lakota (upper-midwest US) & Anishinaabe (Great Lakes, US/Canada) Native American. Leonard is a member of the American Indian Movement, involved in the 1975 occupation at the Pine Ridge Reservation to protest at corruption within the Tribal Council, when two FBI agents were killed. His life-sentence was commuted on Biden’s last day in office (Jan 2025).

Clifford Dann (1933-2017) Western Shoshone (Great Basin, US) Native American. Clifford was gaoled in 1992-1993 for attempting to stop the Bureau of Land Management from stealing horses from his family’s ranch.

Norma Jean Croy (1954-) Shashtan (northwestern US) Native American. Norma was arrested by off duty FBI agents and spent 18 years in prison for a crime that it was proved at the trial she didn’t commit.
