Palestine Solidarity Movement
The final part of this section addresses the legacy of long-running campaigns such as the Palestine solidarity movement and the Stop the War Coalition, which have brought together anti-racist politics, trade unionism, socialist parties and anti-imperialist tendencies into mass and popular campaigns within the anti-militarist and anti-war movement.
We feature material from the Palestinian solidarity movement and liberation struggle, including the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) Bulletin from 1982, published in Beirut to build international solidarity with the Palestinian struggle; the long-running Palestine Solidarity Campaign; and contemporary groups such as Palestine Action and Workers for a Free Palestine.
The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine is a left-wing, Marxist-Leninist organisation established in 1967. It has been an integral part of the Palestinian resistance, with one of the main reasons for its formation being to provide a class perspective on the Palestinian and Arab struggle.
Founded in 1982, Palestine Solidarity Campaign, has become one of the most prominent organisations in Britain advocating for Palestinian rights. We feature one of their early bulletins, Palestine Solidarity from 1983.
Palestine Action was founded in 2020 and targets companies, such as Elbit Systems, involved in the production of military equipment used by Israel’s genocidal and apartheid regime. We feature their own documentation of an action against Leonardo’s factory in Edinburgh, which manufactures components for F-35 fighter jets used by Israel in its bombardment of Gaza.
